Plantation Drive – Van Mahotsava

St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri from 2nd – 20th August 2016 organized a ‘Plantation Drive’ for students of all classes. The plantation drive was organized by Eco Club student members in the school premises and neighbouring area with support of Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra. The students spread awareness that everything in nature is about balance. Plants play a significant role in maintaining this balance. This ideology was fostered in Vanmahotsava, a festival of tree plantation by the students. Innumerable plants and saplings of Asoka, Neem, Cassia, Dahlia, Tulip, Tulsi, Moneyplant, Fenugreek, Rose, China Rose and Lily were planted to make the campus green.

The drive was monitored by Eco club Incharge Ms. Mamta Gupta as several activities such as poster making, Role play on Health and Hygiene and Environment Quiz were organized to spread awareness among students. Students of Classes I-VIII participated in activities focusing on Health and Hygiene highlighting the importance of Hand washing and Keeping oneself hale and hearty. Students of Classes IX-XI were engaged in Healthy Lunch and poster making activity. Students also showcased their knowledge and understanding of the environment through Environment Quiz.

Madam Principal Mrs. R. Bhumra and Madam Vice Principal appreciated the genuine efforts of the young environmentalist and nature lovers in their noble aim of saving mother Earth.
