 Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya’ Campaign Expression Series on Mahatma Gandhi and Sanitation from Oct 2nd – Oct 15th 2014
 St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri, New Delhi joined hands with the nation in the pledge to keep the country clean and to encourage the children to participate whole heartedly in keeping the environment clean. To achieve success in this endeavour various activities, events, workshops, skits, role play, seminar, lectures were conducted in the school to spread awareness about Gandhi ji’s vision of cleanliness and sanitation.

 CLEANLINESS DRIVE: On 7th October, Students from Classes I to XII pledged to keep their school neat and clean. After the pledge the students and the teachers mopped and swept their classrooms, cleaned the school grounds, Library, Computer Lab, Art & Craft Room, Sports Room and various rooms of the school to contribute towards the cause of cleanliness.

 DRAWING COMPETITION: On 7th October, Students from Classes IV to X participated in ‘On the Spot Drawing Competition’ on the theme of Cleanliness and Personal Hygiene. Students participated with a promise to transform Delhi into the land of their dreams.
 ASSEMBLY ACTIVITY: On 9th October, Students of Class I – V performed through different Role Plays and Skits to press on the need of Personal Grooming and Hygiene. They portrayed the role and stressed on the significance of various articles like Dust Bins, Brooms, Mops, Duster, etc.
  LETTER WRITING COMPETITION: On 9th October, students of classes VI, VII and VIII participated in a letter writing competition. They were asked to write letters to their friends to motivate them to keep the surroundings neat and clean.
  WORKSHOP ON ‘GREEN ENERGY’: On 9th October, Ms. Sonam Mehta, TGT Chemistry conducted a session talk on ‘Green Energy’ and ‘Energy Conservation’ for students of Classes IX and X to spread awareness about Environmental Hygiene.
  INTERACTION ON PERSONAL HYGIENE: On 10th October, Ms. Shashi PGT Biology conducted an interactive session with class XI and XII medical science students to spread awareness about Personal Hygiene and Grooming.
  CAMPAIGN TO SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT COMMUNITY HYGIENE: On 13th October, Eco Club members organized a drive in the school neighbourhood to generate awareness about cleanliness and community hygiene wherein the students swept the roads and encouraged the locals to do the same. They also interacted with street hawkers and vendors and discussed the significance of community hygiene. Students presented dustbins to street hawkers and vendors and requested them to throw the disposables in the dustbins than littering the roads and pavements. Their efforts were highly appreciated by the resident and local people.
  BEST OUT OF WASTE ART WORKSHOP: on 13th October, the Art department of the school organized workshop on Best out of Waste for students of classes IV – VIII. The students made beautiful jewellery, wall hangings, coasters, animals like elephant with enthusiasm by using unused cardboards, wires, newspaper and decorating them with various household items. The student carried their art work home wherein the parents also appreciated their creative work.
  NUKKAD NATAK ON IMPORTANCE OF CLEANLINESS: Students of Classes VI – VIII presented a Nukkad Natak on the topic of ‘My Clean Delhi’ on 13th October to highlight the vision and perspective of Gandhiji. Bapu’s concerns for cleanliness and sanitation were highlighted in the Natak wherein the students pledged to transform the dreams of Gandhiji into the reality by joining hands together to accomplish the mission.
