The bright sunny morning of 20th November 2018, witnessed the exuberant Gandhian philosophy of Truth and Non Violence as an instrument of awakening in the campus of St. Cecilia’s Public School.  ‘The journey of the Mahatma – Exhibition and Presentation’ was well portrayed through the event organized by Class V of the school.  The event brought to life Gandhiji who was born on October 2, 1869 known as the father of the nation and also for this struggles for non violence, equality and freedom.

The ceremony witnessed mass participation by all the students of class V.  The occasion was graced by Honourable Chairman Sir Prof. Sewa Singh, Madam Manager Mrs. R. Bhumra, Director Sir Mr. Saroop Singh, Madam Principal Mrs. Inderpreet Kaur, Academic Supervisor Mr. G. P. Sharma and Co-ordinators.  The day also witnessed enthusiastic participation of the parents who had come to see the Exhibition and the presentation.  The Lighting of the Lamp Ceremony was graced by all the Dignitaries.

The Ceremonious prayers were presented by the student choir of Class V wherein the students sang the melodious prayers to seek the blessings of the Almighty.  The student choir also sang favourite “bhajans’ sung by the Mahatma himself.  Class V students also presented a motivating foot tapping dance performance based on the vision of Gandhiji. They showcased how the youth of the country whole heartedly is stepping ahead to makes India – the land of peace, non violence , equality and truth.

The august gathering was addressed and blessed by the valuable words of Honourable Chairman Sir who emphasised on the need of re-awakening Gandhian philosophy in the contemporary times. Honourable Chairman Sir also opened the Exhibition for the gathering.  The exhibition showcased the major life changing incidents and turning points in the life of Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi that paved way to the making of the Mahatma.

The day witnessed a golden close as all parents and students went home with Gandhiji and his vision re-kindled to life in their hearts.  The parents much appreciated the noble endeavour of the school authorities to inculcate value based teachings and a rich empowering thinking to enable them to become fabulous future of the country.
