St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikas Puri

Republic Day Celebration 2016

The 67th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri in a special assembly attended by more than 2000 patriotic students.  The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness of motherland India.

The March Past troupe saluted Madam Prinicpal Mrs. R. Bhumra as she hoisted the tri-colour flag in all its grandeur followed by the National Anthem.  In her address to the student, Madam Principal inspired the students to commit their lives for the cause of national progress and development.

The choir group presented the patriotic song “Hum pancchi azad gagan ke” while the whole song reverberated with the patriotic melody of the song.  The song was followed by a beautiful dance performance on ‘Vande Materam’ and ‘Jai Ho’ by the students.  A yoga musical performance using tricolor props was also presented by the students.  The Social Science Department teachers also presented an exclusive presentation on the importance of 26th January for Indians and told about the coming into the existence of Indian Constitution.  The melodious music and graceful movements of all the participants were spell binding.

The students were infused with the fervor of doing their best and felt proud to be Indians.   After the assembly, the students dispersed with the image of fluttering tricolour in their minds.
