“Van Mahotsava - Plant a tree – Save the World”
Let me grow
I will provide you shade
Let me grow
I will never make your city fade
Plants are the lungs of a city. They oxygenate air and absorb carbon dioxide. Plants are the only means of purifying air and making the planet – Earth habitable. With increasing air pollution in Delhi, it becomes the responsibility of every citizen to nurture these natural purifiers. ‘Vanmahotsava – a festival of tree plantation was celebrated with active support of Principal Madam Mrs. R. Bhumra and Vice Principal Madam in the premises of St. Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri from 10th to 13th August 2015. Students of all classes participated in “Plant a sapling drive’ organized by the Eco – Club of the school. All students came together to do their bit to save our environment, so as to give a clean and green earth to our next generations. They also pledged to increase the green cover in their city by planting at least one sapling and nursing it in their neighbourhood. They also pledge to grow indoor plants to combat indoor air pollution as it is more harmful than the outdoor air pollution.
