REPORT ON PARTICPATION IN ‘HT NIIT - NU INNOVATORS CHALLENGE-2016

  

  

  

Students of Class XII and XI of St Cecilia’s Public School , Vikaspuri, New Delhi participated in the ‘NU Innovators Challenge 2016’ organized by the NIIT University in collaboration with the Hindustan Times. Ms Neha Tiwari, Assistant professor in Electronics and Communication engineering , specializing in optic and satellite communication, NIIT University headed the team for assessment of students projects.

Students were at their creative best as they presented diverse projects blooming at the interface of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and even behavioral sciences. Students utilized their innovative potential to design exploratory, cost effective and useful projects addressing key contemporary issues in social, environmental and health sciences. Students creativity explored diverse themes like creation of automobile designs suited for the differently abled, construction of posture correcting devices ideal for offices and schools, development of offence management systems ideal for use by policemen to models aiming at generating electricity from captured carbondioxide or using waste onion peels to filter heavy metals from industrial effluents. The students projects also aimed at providing solutions to various contemporary problems like waste disposal, recycling of waste, increasing menace of pollution and its effect on human life and health.

The event was a great learning experience for all of the participants as they gathered diverse views on their projects and new stimulants for further expansion of their creative ideas. The projects of the students were highly appreciated by the assessment team from NIIT University working in association with Hindustan Times.
