‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’
Clean India Mission that was officialy launched by honourable PM Mr. Narender Modi on 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd of Oct in 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi, aimed to make India – Clean India – by 2nd of October 2019 i.e. 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is launched as a responsibility of each and every Indian citizen, to make India ‘Swach Bharat’.
Students of St. Cecilia’s Public School took a pledge last year to contribute their bit in this nationwide campaign through devoting their time for this campaign , to keep their school and neighbourhood clean. Since then, they are committed to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission, on Nov, 6th, 2015 student XII from all classes participated in a cleanliness drive organized by the school Eco-club to motivate.
Students to get envolved in ‘Shramdaan Movement’ whereby they cleaned their classroom, corridor, labs etc. The activity was organized to inculcate a feeling of dignity of labour among the students. It also helped to ‘link the importance of cleanliness to the auspicious occasion of Diwali’. The students participated whole heartedly with great fervor and joy.
