Republic Day Celebrations at St. Cecilia’s Public School

India’s 71st Republic Day was celebrated with great pride and reverence in our school. The date twenty sixth January holds an everlasting place in our national memory because it is the day when modern India was born. The day began with seeking blessings through prayer followed by national flag hoisting by Manager Madam Mrs. R. Bhumra, Madam Principal Mrs. Inderpreet and Academic Adviser Mr. G. P. Sharma in the presence of students and staff members.

The national flag was hoisted and the national anthem was sung as the tri coloured flag kept fluttering in the free spirited wind. The Marchpast troupe of students served salute order to the dignitaries at the unfurling of the national flag accompanied by national anthem and pledge. Madam Manager addressed and blessed the gathering. She shared her vision that the children of today must become agents of piece and brotherhood. Madam Principal spoke eloquently about our diverse nation and the relevance of the constitution and the Preamble. She enthralled the audience with inspirational words and reiterated the need for being resolute in our path to achieve our goals.

The programme was further carried on by pledge on ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and a patriotic speech by teacher Ms. Shruti Relan. The cultural programme included patriotic song and dance presentations showcasing love for the motherland. Finally all assembled, a perfect tribute to our national anthem, a perfect ribute to our motherland. Today we are proud of our nation’s achievements and look ahead to a bright future for our country India which has flourished despite adversities to rise victorious.

At last, it was shared that lt us not pass this Republic Day as any other holiday. Instead look within and introspect, whether or not we are fulfilling our fundamental duties. The students pledged to respect and regard the constitution of the nation as a living document.

Jai Hind!
